The Magnificent 7+3All our dogs are from Carrick Rescue Center in Co. Monaghan and they include Greyhounds, German Shepherds, Whippets, a Great Dane... The greyhounds are great pets and are so easy to mind. George is 13 - he is blind but enjoys his walks and his couch. Fern and Cleo are our Whippets - real jokers. Lucy does her own thing - she's sometimes daft but lovely. Dubh loves the water. Fiji is a German Shepherd and is fantastic with children. We currently have ten lovely dogs living with us and we love every precious minute of it!

Your dogs are so beautiful, I would love to adopt more if I had more space.

Poor GEORGE left us today, he was 13 years old. He died peacefully on his own blanket while we held him. We only had George for 3 years but it was a privilege to give him a happy home and he certainly gave us plenty of love in return. Our only wish would have been to have rescued him sooner. He was a great dog and friend, we'll miss you Georgie boy.

Well Charlie, it would appear you found the biggest dog lovers in the country. Your adopted mum and dad get a big wow from us. I think you are fantastic to give your home (literally) to these wonderful guys who have had a rough time and I imagine you are rewarded every day. Bless.

Happy 13th birthday to George. He had a great day and is still enjoying life - a little slower than last year but still a happy boy.

Thank you for all your greetings for George. He had a great day and as usual took over one of the couches after the fire was lit for the evening. For a blind man he sure can move fast when there's an empty couch going, but we love him to bits. Lets hope he has many more Happy Birthdays with us.

Hello. I have just read your page and I can say you really are a great family. If every one was as caring and giving as you there would be no pounds or dogs having to be put down. What an inspiration guys.

Hi from Sadie and the family: Duke the Labrador, Luca the Spaniel and Angus the Hound (oh and the 3 cats too)! They are all ours, not as many as you though :) Angus was one of the 1st rescues from ACS Cork, Duke I rescued from a park, Sadie was left on the door step in a box and Luca is the 'rich kid', she came from a friend who has Spaniels. Happy Christmas and hope there's lots of toast to go around.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send Caoimhe and I a lovely note. Your story and pictures are beyond words, truly heart-warming. The world is a far brighter place because your beautiful spirit is in it. All the doggies look content, happy & safe and the smiling faces say it all! Enjoy your gorgeous family and yes, we treasure every second with our Caoimhe. They really are our best friends and the heart of our families.

Thank you; Angus too is a rescue dog (now 10) as are Duke & Sadie. Luca is the 'posh' one :) I have 4 rescue cats too. It's wonderful to come home to lots of wagging tails - there's no psychiatrist in the world like a dog!

The newest member of the gang is Charlie our Great Dane. He's a mantle (black and white) and we got him from the wonderful people in Carrick Dog Shelter. He's BIG but a real softie and we love him to bits. He has fitted into our group so well. The only thing is no one can share the couch with him!! He takes up a  full two seater. He loves children and they love him and are fascinated by his size. We hope to have him for many long happy years!

Many of our dogs came from poor circumstances and some were very nervous and had various ailments but through the great work of Steve and Helen from Carrick Dog Centre and Rescue and through our own TLC they are all doing well now and are part of our ever expanding family.
